Like all nature photographers, I am captivated and constantly inspired by the natural world. It never fails to stimulate the senses and even from our kitchen window in the heart of the Scottish Highlands I can make new observations and see the potential for new images. I am fortunate to work in one of the most beautiful parts of the country but I also travel, both around Scotland and elsewhere. Yet I feel that many of my most rewarding pictures are made locally where I am more in tune with the rhythms of the natural world. Perhaps I should quit traveling!

Whilst still active in stock photography, more of my time is currently spent undertaking longer-term projects such as Tooth & Claw – a collaborative photo-documentary that explores our relationship with predators here in Britain. I am also a founding director of the Wild Media Foundation – a social enterprise that aims to promote conservation issues through stimulating visual imagery and commentary.
